So you are looking for an answer to the question how to become a comedian , well you've found the right place. In this article, I'm going to give you the basic idea of the purpose concept.

What is the purpose of a comedian?

Sounds maybe a bit harsh, "what is the point of you?", but it can actually be good to put it this way to show why comedians are needed. The main purpose is obvious, it's to make people laugh. Comedy is one way of entertaining. As you are beginning to be a part of this huge market, you need to start thinking, what can I as a comedian give to an audience, which a musician, wizzard or clown can't? And even more importantly what can I do which other comedians can't?

I like to put it this way, the main purpose of a comedian is to make people laugh, then there are hundreds of sub-purposes which you need to discover yourself in order to be successful. At the top of your head, can you find something right now that might be a sub-purpose? I'm going to give you one for free, the "I know that situation" purpose. This is the most commonly used sub-purpose, and it's so popular since it works in almost all situations. How to become a comedian is partly about making peoples life be a part of your show. Make jokes about situations that your audience has experienced.

So now, you've got the main purpose and one sub-purpose. Keep in mind that the list can be made huge, but try to come up with at least 20 sub-purposes that you think you are unique about. Something that your competiting comedians haven't though about yet.
